Great article - Edward Norton is a very smart and talented man. I love his quote: "Social networking offers a new way of getting people together to create power in numbers" - this is the truth and future right here, and Norton summed it up in one sentence.
The idea of making Crowdrise's website fun and silly is genius. They are following the foot steps of...who else? Facebook! To succeed, one must study and learn from someone who is already successful. Crowdrise implements the feature of gaming - creating points and voting. Again, sounds like Facebook with the points and game apps.
Crowdrise involves celebrities and everyday, oridinary people to stand up and raise a cause, no matter how big or small. It accepts all and does not shun anyone out.
We are in the beginning stages of social networking, and people don't realize how positive, influential, and productive social networking is. It does need monitoring and constrictions just like anything else in the world because there are always culprits out there.
