In today's New York Times magazine, Peggy Orenstein weighs in about ads promoting female "empowerment."
Elsewhere in the paper, an article in the fashion and Style section reports that a research study found that men who earn less than their wives are more likely to cheat. The same is true for men who make significantly more.
"The safety zone, apparently, is when women make 75 percent of what men earn, which sounds suspiciously like the national average of women’s salaries relative to men’s."
For the record, women earn, on average, 77 cents to a men's dollar.
